Elliott C Nathan is an up and coming Mission District commercial artist who has been in San Francisco for the past two years. Since 2011 his work has been shown at galleries and cafes across SF, including: Incline Gallery, Cafe La Boheme, Muddy's on 24th, L's Cafe, Mission Pie, Blue Fig, Borderland Books, Classic Cars West Gallery, and currently has a show at Muddy Waters on Valencia and 16th. His work as also been featured in blogs and newspapers including; MissionMission, SF Gate, Mission Local, and The Uptown Almanac.
"I find a lot of the materials I use to create while skateboarding around SF. I often repurpose old canvases, pieces of plywood, and sometimes pieces of discarded furniture to create something new and unique. I enjoy collaging found materials - old receipts, photographs, event posters, etc. - and incorporating them into my work."
Elliott is also the founder of SunkenMonkey skateboards, which produces San Francisco's smallest handmade wooden skateboards that still cruise like a longboard. The decks are drawn, cut, and sanded by hand, then embellished with upcycled, vintage, and found materials to create truly unique deck art. They have been featured on Fab.com and can be purchased on Etsy, or through Mission Skateboards on 24th Street.
Elliott is available for custom paintings, murals, commercial signs, graphics, unique projects, and collaborative works. He is currently working on 10 brand new pieces for his 2013 showings. To contact the artist, visit his website at elliottcnathan.com
