Seattle-born artist Jonathan Matas is most comfortable with a paintbrush in his hand, creating art that can be seen inside galleries, on public walls, streets, trains, and on occasions, hanging over freeway overpasses. Currently based in San Francisco, he most recently created murals as an artist-in-residence at Facebook Headquarters.
Matas has a long-standing commitment to social-engagement through his art, which has been expressed through the content of his own work and numerous workshops and projects he has facilitated with underserved youth.His current goal is to make art so warm that it melts the hearts of ants.
