On December 2, 2016 a fire broke out in a warehouse known as Ghost Ship located in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, Ca. It housed an artist collective. A concert was hosted the evening of the fire resulting in 36 deaths. Artist Mel Waters painted this memorial piece for Michael Gregory and Alex Vega
