For those of you who do not live in SF Bay Area – On December 2, 2016 a fire broke out in a warehouse known as Ghost Ship located in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, Ca. It housed an artist collective. A concert was hosted the evening of the fire resulting in 36 deaths. The lost was felt deeply throughout the Bay Area sparking concern for the safety of the buildings inhabited by artists, and those associated with the DIY subculture. Their names can be found listed on wikipedia.
