The concept

This project was initiated by Luke Groesbeck, the founder of Art City Project. He asked the question

“what happens if instead of trying to sell something, we’re investing in art, we’re investing in culture?”

For one month he put money where his mouth is. He raised $100,000 for this pilot project, renting ad billboards for one month, which is the standard period for the industry The buses were based out of the Potrero yard and had commissary runs. During the course of the month he observed the foot traffic by the art and how much it was blogged on social media for his bigger project which is to rent the existing 7,000 ad space in San Francisco and cover them with photos and paintings.
