In 2015 we published an article about the Hearts of San Francisco that are scattered around the City. Since then we have made an observation. All those hearts do not remain in the same place. Some of them rotate around, while others that appear to be in private collections are more likely to remain in one spot. One location that changes frequently is Union Square in the heart of the downtown shopping district. That heart not only changes it also moves around to one of the four entrances to the park. There are elevated blocks they are mounted on for display.
This year there are special displays of smaller hearts we ordinarily do not see. Macy’s Union Square store has an impressive display on the 3rd Floor by the Geary Street escalators until Feb 14th. Well Fargo on 333 Market St in the Financial District has a special installation with artists present on Valentine Day from 11AM to 2:30.
You can view photos of all the hearts that have been created since 2004 on the Gallery of Heart. We think they are enjoyed more in situ.
