SprayPrinter is a smart spray paint developed by an Estonian startup that prints pictures from smart phones to any surface. It writes art on the street but so far it has barely realized its possibilities. RIP Anemal- One Year Anniversary #2
One year ago today Anemal(Smoky) died in an accident. News of his death flew through the writers community. He was an anomaly loved by all enemy and foe. He was a unifier who brought harmony and happiness to all wherever he ventured. He was the pearl in the oyster. When he arrived the party began. He frequently traveled between California and Colorado and hung out in SLC. There was always a place for him to stay.

Emerging artists are making their way from the street into the home, office building and other public establishments.
Last month we went looking for an Ursula X Young mural at the luxury Grand Hyatt Hotel by Union Square in San Francisco. To our surprise we discovered much more. Upon entering the lobby we found other large pieces of commissioned art by San Francisco based artists commanding center stage in the lobby and a very helpful concierge desk enthusiastic about the art.

The San Francisco Unified School District officially opened this week for the 2016-2017 school year. The students arrived at Lincoln High School on 24th St at Rivera in the Sunset District to find new graffiti in their school yard. About a week before school began Mace invited members of the WOD (Writers of Doom) Crew to get together to refresh the yard with new writing. They completely repainted the tennis court wall to spur the kids on with a clean slat. It is a hella production with a terrestrial background and some looney tune characters.

Last set of photos from 2016 Outside Lands music festival in Golden Gate Park. These are of the second tunnel. Pemex and Sasquatch23 also painted pieces in the tunnel. Theirs were not finished by the time we left.
The people and chairs were painted at previous festivals. We will leave it up to you to identify the artists when you attend the festival in 2017.
This is an amazing venue. Between the music, art and setting this should be on your short list for next year.
