greetings, this is a kind of long post, i’m sorry:
On Saturday, December 10 from 6 to10 pm, some OGs from the Bay, Adobe Books and luggage store are hosting a joint fundraiser in the form of an art auction and sale.

We planned this months ago and we simply cannot change the date. We acknowledge and are deeply aligned with the ongoing and continuous local, domestic and international struggles. We feel our work and programs reflect this.
At this time, we mourn and offer love and condolences for the tragic loss of life in the oakland fire. (If you would like to make a donation to a fund for, we suggest Gray Area gallery’s crowd fund at (see comment section, sorry couldn’t paste it), and …
We will also be accepting cash/check donations for Standing Rock as friends will be driving up there in a week and can hand deliver. Protectors must continue to stand strong..
it so doesn’t feel like a good time for a fundraiser, which originally was also intended to be a kind of celebration for all of us surviving in this climate.. And as a friend suggested this morning, all the more reason to gather. and the work is great. also , tan khanh cao’s show will be up on the 2nd floor, “what kind of man would i be.” last chance to see it…
So after much reflection and deliberation and tears, in the past days, we decided to go forth, because we really need to. We would love for you to join us on Saturday night at the luggage store (1007 Market St. @ 6th) with a donation of $25-40 at the door or Anything below and above, which will include some food and drink..you know we are inclusive…

Adobe will use funds generated from the auction of work that was first exhibited at the Oakland Museum, for general operating expenses – to keep the doors open/ The luggage store will direct funds to paying back big loans for the recent improvements made in the LSG, creating another gallery space on the 2nd floor; for the sprinkler , heating and ventilation system , wheelchair accessible bathrooms and general accessibility improvements, essentially keeping the doors open as well.

Going forward, as usual, the LSG will donate space for upcoming performances and/or memorials to keep the light shining.WE are all in this together!
