HoodLAB SF is proud to present Lost Ink, featuring Art by Surrealistic Pop artist Aaron White.

Although born in Southern California in 1967, Aaron White spent his childhood years in Woodstock New York with his father, abstract expressionist painter and beat poet Saul White. Aaron returned to Los Angeles where he attended Otis Parsons School of Arts. He began his career as an anonymous underground artist on the streets of Los Angeles while earning a living as a commercial animator and graphic designer. His work has been featured in the LA Times, Thrasher, Surfer and Rolling Stone magazines to name a few.
Aaron’s art is a representation of how he grew up and the eternal fight we all have to find our own voice. His art oozes with passion mixed with a bit of underground darkness and is created using a combination of hard to find collectables sealing them with resins, old newspaper and magazines, spray painting patterns and stencils, porn, Mexican soap opera comics, basically everything but the kitchen sink! He say’s “I try to achieve a beautifully aged alley wall or that perfect looking billboard before the new one goes up with parts of images you can see and worn out glue that turned yellow from the sun. This is when the stories start coming alive, some of the characters I sand down and make look as old as the backgrounds and silkscreen images that look aged. Then comes the lead character and I love for this part to sock it to you from blocks away. ”
Aaron Whites art will be on display from April 5th till the 27th With an opening reception the night of April 5th at the HoodLAB SF Gallery/Concept Store located at 1669 Haight St. in San Francisco.

Opening reception will be held Saturday April 5th from 7-11 pm and will be catered and include a liquor sponsor.
