There is an obsession with patterns in my art. They have become a driving factor in my work. The paint is used as a textile. Each color is a individual thread woven together to create a dynamic visual tapestry. Patterns are de-constructed into their singular molecular elements and then re-constructed into new molecular strands that serve as anchoring points though out the work. The final result is a high-powered visual display of color and form.
Digital Renaissance
Since taking a strong interest in digital art from the very beginning, we as a gallery believe that just as the Renaissance art movement paralleled developments in philosophy, literature, music and science in the 1400’s, digital art mirrors the progress current society is making in those same fields.
The digital art movement marks the transition of a societal view. We as a society do not live in the confines of the physical anymore. We see the world as fast paced, ever changing, anything is possible and at the tips of our fingertips. This ability to use digital technology in our day-to-day lives shapes the way we think about everything from politics to pop culture and is reflected in our contemporary art forms.
In today’s modern age our two largest pop culture influences, music and film, are produced digitally. Why not art? Sounds and visuals that would not have been possible before the advances of digital technology are suddenly commonplace. The artistic world should be keeping up and producing classic art that can’t necessarily be created using traditional mediums.
For some reason digital painting has become the last and least accepted of the art forms. We hope to showcase exceptional digitalwork with a renaissance feel that demonstrates how creative and talented digital artists are. Our hope is that as the digitalmovement becomes more widely accepted within the art market, digital works themselves will gain popularity and momentum and truly become a fixture that defines our time.
