The show “Boards”, which is a collaboration between several prolific street artists currently active in the bay area will serve to transform an ephemeral and highly politicized practice of illegally placing paintings in the streets into a meaningful dialogue and critical analysis of the boundaries between the streets and the gallery. Over the course of a year, The artist Grow and myself have made 100 collaborative paintings which utilize found materials, wood, along with other mixed medias. We have placed these paintings around California and Portland, nailing them to street signs and propping them up against alley walls, etc.
