Rocha Art (formerly Ian Ross Gallery) is proud to announce 1 Brush Initiative, a San Francisco based non-profit that facilitates public art projects and empowers youth. By giving young people the tools and access to hands-on arts education, we plan to facilitate experiences that can potentially change lives. 1 Brush recruits professional artists to lead workshops and mentor young people at underserved schools and in the juvenile justice system. Through our workshops and public art projects where kids can learn from an artist as they create in real time, we hope to give youth the tools to express themselves in positive ways, while also beautifying San Francisco’s neighborhoods with engaging public art.
This event is very special because Ian Ross and Max Ehrman will be giving away their well known mural from 435 Duboce St. (At Fillmore) that recently was taken down. The mural has been repurposed into smaller individual works that will be available for one night only. Priority is for those who responded to the initial social media blasts, and those living in the neighborhood who showed interest in preserving this mural in its new form. Ian, Max and another artist (who is new to our walls) called fnnch, will also have other works on display.
