Beyond Structure is an exhibition unique in scope as it features the works of University art students from the greater Bay Area and beyond, southern to northern California regions. This show aims to encourage artistic freedom or license to create works of art, which is counter to and outside the bounds of adhering to academic principles or curriculum. Working within an un-prescribed artistic direction, artists discover and incorporate new techniques and processes by producing new forms of visual expressions and alternative ways of perceiving art that provokes a visionary artistic dialogue to what art is?
With this as our creative intention 111 Minna’s curatorial team selected a well rounded jury panel consisting of art professionals including curators, professors,editors, critics, historians, and artists who are progressive visionaries and think outside the box.
Based on the final jury selections the Beyond Structure exhibition will showcase a large
variety of art practices and mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, traditional
and digital photography, stain glass, sculpture, installation, mix media and video.
